Freezers left outside

Postby Navesgane » 09 24, 2013 •  [Post 1]

This is probably a stupid question to most but as a Native Floridian now in Colorado I have a question. Would a chest freezer left outside plugged in during the winter cause damage to the unit or do I need to do some insulating or just bring it indoors for the winter?

I have one of my freezers running out in my uninsulated barn.

Works fine

We use to run a number of freezers stored in a old building in Minnesota where we placed out fur until we got a walk-in,He in Idaho we keep our freezer in the uinsulated garage

Protecting it from the outside element saves the life of the freezer.
