Tyvek

Postby Mikeha33 » 08 23, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Does anybody use a sheet of Tyvek in place of a ground tarp or an emergency tarp? Not having grommets kind of concerns me, but it's a lot lighter weigh, and I just happen to have about a half a roll of 9' Tyvek left over from a job. Is it worth it? I was planning on taking a 5' x 5' piece to lay de-boned meat on if we kill, but I'm wondering if taking a bigger piece and leaving the tarp at home is a good idea.

i love the stuff.

finding it has been a challenge for me. my friend uses it for his tent footprint. it really is a good idea, because he can also use it for meat like you said. on good nights, i've seen him throw out his tyvek, his mat, and his bag..and he just sleeps like that.

wanna sell me a section? :)

Use it all the time. It's a bit noisy at first, but it gets better with use.

You could add grommets to it.
