Cold shot #6.

Postby pointysticks » 08 01, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Thanks Cnelk!

Ok. One shot. 30 yards. Wearing your hunting pack. Mine will be about 25lbs of old turkey hunting gear.

I need to practice this shot anyways.

Have fun!

Here's my contribution for the day. Badlands 2200 with about half the "stuff" I'll have when its GO time.Is Sept EVER gonna get here!Anyway, I did'nt want Brad to feel left out shooting his broadheads so I shot my slick trick 100gr just to make shure. It is 1.75 below the 1" dot.And before I could call it back, I shot a field point just to see the variance. If there is anyone around Wray this weekend, please stop by to help me pull that blasted arrow. That Morrell target is a BROADHEAD target only! When I first got the target, I shot a fp & was'nt shure I was going to get it out.SHEEECH! Its like its welded in!Said never again, but the memmory is one of the first to go when you get my age...

Well my head cam setup needs some fine tuning, but I hope you guys enjoy the tree tops

My pack is a Rocky Mountain New Frontier Day Pack...1950 cubic cm. It was mostly loaded for a day hunt except I didn't fill my water bottle.

I can't stand hunting with more than a day pack, so I lash it to a meat frame when I pack in, and everything else stacks on and around it in dry bags.

Best of Luck,

Jeff, your shooting " lights out". That's incredible shooting from a bare compound & just a tab.

Thanks Dave. I just got this new bow a couple months ago...Elite Pure. I'm shooting better than I have in years, and my eyesight certainly is not getting any better, so I am giving credit to the bow.

Some fine shooting gentlemen! Here's my offering. I only have one pack loaded with anything right now and that's my old Army alice training pack. It's the one I use to hike the hills around JBLM each day after work. I think I've got around 45 pounds in it. Hit about an inch right.

Thanks guys. I took the idea from guides on an outfitted bear hunt in Idaho. They used Idaho pack frames and a bucket to haul bait in. When I'm at camp here in pa, I just put in stones, rocks, whatever is a available to hike and scout.
It's good to see everyone shooting great.
Question, should we advertise this on the Elk Hunting column? We may have more shooters participate.
Lets shoot.

You may have a good point Dave. I was one of the first Sponsors on this site, and the only reason I started participating in the Doc's Office section is because one of the Elknut members suggested I post something here.
