Postby cnelk » 07 19, 2013 •  [Post 1]

For those that would like to participate:

It is 9pm MDT 7/19/13
You have 24 hours to post a vid or pic of your first 'cold' shot

Distance - 40yds
Position - Kneeling

Please use an identifier on your target and measure the distance from the center of it to your arrow.
Post a pic of your arrow in the target and the measurement

Remember - this is just for fun!

Whomever makes the best shot gets to pick the next yardage and position.

Cold shot, kneeling, 40 yards. 3 inches high, a hair right. The dang thing "ducked" right when I shot ;)

5 inches to the right and high. Ironic that everyone is shooting high when kneeling. Someone smarter than me can probably explain that.

Not sure the knee shot makes much difference as I do much of my practicing on my knees, drawing while pretty much back on my haunches and lifting up high on my knees to touch off the arrow. Is your bow still sighted in for BHs from last year Gary? Mine is and although I know better, my TPs hit a few inches higher than my BHs.

After my first shot this morning, I continued to shoot a tad high, even standing.
Then I remembered that I turned my bow up one turn the last time I shot...

Silly me

My second shot was much better...which is the whole point of this practice!

Sorry I'm late Gentlemen

Here's the video link: http://s1132.photobucket.com/user/elkmtngear/media/coldshot1_zps36cfbbf7.mp4.html

The shot was 1.5" low from the center of the spot to the center of the arrow.

***note: this was an exceptional shot for me (I'm really not that good)

I don't really aim. I just close my eyes and let it fly. Just glad I hit the target this time

ctdad, what was the solution to resize on your phone...is it a taptalk feature? (I don't have taptalk)

Great shot, BTW!

Forgive me friends, I have a confession to make :o This was my 40yd shot from my knees....but it was actually only 38 as that is the max in my backyard without shooting from the neighbors yard...(which I have done on ocasion) :o I did shoot one tonight when I did the 50 yarder but did'nt take a pic as this one was much better ;) It was at the 2 oclock position & 2" from center.Had to hurry as the football team was starting to show up for a late workout . I did take a pic of the 50! Wait for it....

Finally have had a chance to post pics! Has been a very crazy two weeks at work, cannot wait for Sept. 1!! Just picked up a dozen Victory Vforce V6 arrows. LOVE them! Great price as well, my buddy that owns a shop here in baker swears by them, and after shooting them i agree! So here is shot #1 for me....4" high center.

About 1.75 inches to the right. Yup a few of us are a lil late getting organized, shows we are all game to keep it going. May have to find a glow in the dark target pretty darn soon. A reminder the white is my eye. Rest isn't visual without the flash.
