Hunting Music :)..

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 06 21, 2013 •  [Post 1]

So, we've chimed in on the music many of us dislike.. What do you like? I'm a music guy and it's a part of my life. My tastes range from old school country to, well you'll see. Post up something you like whether it's John Denver, Marshall Tucker Band, Pink Floyd, Randy Travis, etc., etc. No wrong posts here, just curious as to what you elknuts like for music. Yeah, dumb thread but it's Friday night and I'm up late ;)

I'll start with one of my "likes". If you haven't done it before, find a you tube video, copy everything after the "v=" in the video link, go back to the forum post and select "you tube". Paste what I mentioned in between the brackets and click preview. Whatever you typed in for text and the video should show.

I'm starting it off with kind of a rocker ;)

First, thanks for finally explaining how to use the "youtube" button!

This song sums up my music pretty well, with salute to everyone from waylon to vanhalen. HWJR is still my all time favorite musician.

I love music. I massacred it for years in band. I love all music except most reggae and most jazz. And vintage country, no thanks.

Besides that I listen to the full gambit. Rap to broadway musicals to classics. I dated and almost married a theater chick and she got me into musicals.

OK so I'm a computer dummy! I tried what you aid RJ and it didn't work for me!

Anyhow, I'm surprised nobody has posted Ted Nugent's song (Fred Bear) I'm not a Nugent fan but this is a thread about hunting music and this is Nugent's best.

So post it up for me RJ. PLEASE!!!!!!

Freebird,
For some reason I would have thought your song would be 'Freebird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd :)

Hunting Music :)..

Postby Huntography » 06 25, 2013 •  [Post 17]

I have all kinds of music on my iPhone but a couple of seasons ago while filming a deer camp in Michigan, the fellas had Van Halen on all the time.

Now that's what I listen to to get pumped.

Other than that, country is always on in my truck.

One of my favorites from back in my MT days. It's amazing to me how real good artists are well, good forever. Here's a live version of their mid 70s song performed in 2007.

I love the outlaws. I saw them a few years ago and a band named Blackberry Smoke opened for them. Good little country/southern rock band. I haven't heard a whole lot from them since, but they did do this great cover with the late great Possum and my man Jamey Johnson.

All right.. You're both in a 10 minute time out to think about what you just said (and played/sang) ;) I want you both to listen to this video 10 times each and say "I will never play a commodores song again" 100 times each :?

okay one more ridiculous cover then ill stop. since you put up david gilmour, i figured this was in order. in general i think anybody covering pink floyd is a hellworthy trespass, but i make an exception for these guys. they covered the wall , the whole album, and its awesome. ill just put it right here.
