Not a bad idea. But that's what Twitter is for. I talk hunting in real time with folks from around the country everyday. Been doing it since 2010 actually.

I'm @huntography on Twitter btw.

@cnelk - Twitter is a real time site where people post status messages under 140 characters long and talk to each other.

You basically search for the keywords you're interested in. E.g. #elk #elkhunting #bowhunting and you'll see the real time conversations people are having about those subjects.

Then, you "follow" the people who you find interesting. Then, you'll see their updates in your stream of updates.

It' pretty different compared to a traditional forum but tons of people are talking to each other about what they love - in our case, elk hunting or archery.

It's not for everyone, that's for sure but I've made some amazing friends on Twitter, all who love hunting just as much as I do.

I hope to make as many friends here on Elknut as the community here is really great from what I've seen thus far.

I'd like an Elknut chat option. I don't want to get onto twitter or chirp or any other site where I don't know anyone to talk hunting . . .

I want to talk to you guys. It's been discussed on another thread, but all of you contributing members to elk nut are good people and I feel that I can speak freely without being picked apart and belittled, it's one of the best things about this site.

thats kinda what i was talking about lucky. i set around at nite and watch bball and surf the net, thought it would be fun to have a live chat option where we could sit back and talk current conditions etc just by clicking on a live chat button. maybe make it so you had to have a 100 posts or something to get on, rather than having to twit tweet cluck chirp, id rather bugle

Guys, I know that Twitter is full of jack wagons that do incredibly stupid stuff, but one great thing about Twitter, is that you choose only who you want to follow, or who follows you. You dont even have to tweet, but just following some other avid outdoorsman like us is pretty awesome. I follow all types of people, friends, family, guides and outfitters, bowhunters, writers, etc, and I find a ton of helpful tips and resources through social networking.
