Postby pointysticks » 03 26, 2013 •  [Post 1]

anyone ever knock down a turkey with a big pellet rifle? i just bought a Sheridan (vintage) blue streak off of gun broker. it is beautiful. i forgot to have pellets ready to test fire..duh!

anyways it is a .20 cal pellet gun. there is man out there that hotrods them, and he just patented a silencer for this thing!! i am sending it off for the hotrodding and a good peep sight.

for now i will just shoot it as is. i just need my pellets to show up and i get to sight this thing in. season starts Sat, not so sure i get anything in time.

anyone?

A very cool, lethal weapon P. Sticks. I would imagine a well placed neck shot on a gobbler would do the trick. Back in the day (another thread, LOL), I used an old Benjamin pump pellet gun to keep the MT grouse population under control. It worked fine for head/neck shots. Good luck with them garden ground squirrels ;) .

This thing is a cannon! My homemade backstop isn't stopping the pellets. Thank goodness for rock walls. My first four shots with a steady rest produced dime sized groups at 15 yards. Only five pumps. I'm scared to go the full eight pumps. Pretty neat. I am gonna send it in for some high performance mods. (gives it 14 pumps max) and a proper peep sight. The man patented a silencer for this thing. Not sure it is legal where I live.
