High Mountain Lake Photos

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 03 16, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Among all the other great things about the high country, you've gotta love high mountain lakes. This is one in WA, close to where I hunt in the early season. Please post up some pics of the high mountain water you've visited. It has bows and brown trout... I've taken a break from elk combat many times at this lake to drag a tiny adams fly, connected to a torpedo fly bobber, with an UL spinning rod. If you look close, you can see my 4LB test line laying on the water. RJ

Beautiful picture! All i have is my crappy pond behind my house, but it does have some nice bass and a few large catfish.

Very nice, yep I can see the line too!

Here's a lake we came across in one of our adventures! You can see a fire burned some of the area, no roads down there.

Hey Phantom 16, this is close to you. Do you know it? (Hint: No hunting here, but the Brook trout are available without limit.)

No fish for us. We were elk hunting. Called in a bull just below that lake the next morning, but never had a shot. I think that is Disappointment Lake--and it was kind of a disappointing end.

I know you don't pack a rod into your hunting areas (and neither do I) but you should, especially around a lake like that ;) You should try out one of these and let us know how it works 8-)
