let's do this. my current truck is just like Paul's. tacoma with a gentle 2" lift. i love it, but a half ton diesel, would make me think long and hard about a car payment

I would hold off, an Italian company is making the motor not Cummins. Who knows what issues the first year will have.

Something about 1/2 ton and diesel that just don't mix. Diesels are good for hauling and pulling! 1/2 ton ain't good for either one!!!!!!!!!

Sounds nice... but a half ton truck with a motor that will last forever (if it's like a 7.3 Power Stroke, a Cummins, or a Duramax)

What kind of fuel milage are they expecting? I was in Honduras a couple years ago and almost all the small trucks and minivans are diesel and i believe they said they got somthing like 30+ mpg with them, but they dont have all the emission stuff we do. If they were 30 mpg it might be worth it.

Most cars in Europe are TDI engines and they kick butt. This will probably seem similar.

I drove hilux diesel. Like my Tacoma. Simply awesome. Four banger.

I drive a Tacoma as well... absolutely love the truck but wonder why they don't offer the hilux diesel in the states, too.

I read that the Ram gets 30mpg. Is that accurate?!

They don't offer it because any vehicle imported to the us has to pass California emissions. And Californians don't like diesels because they aren't electric....like Cali needs to consume even more electricity.
