Good find. Heading out Mother's Day weekend by Winthrop to do some morel hunting. Had great luck in some of those burns the last couple years.

Last year with our deep snow, cold and wet June The highland mountain flowers bloomed through August.
We had thick grasses, and unmatched berry crop starting with huckleberries Currents and elderberries.
Along with fungi I had never seen in September growing everywhere!

So much grows in the woods when there are fewer cows that arent eating everything to the dirt.

I don't know anything about fungi other than morels, inky caps and store-bought

Evidently no moose around this year. I would break off a few branches of berries an m way intoi the deer stand . Then again at mid day, and late afternoon

., The bear came in down wind , while he liked the crying elk sounds but the cards and wind was against me. but Then coming upon raspberries, salmon berries, and bucket loads of currents I filled my belly, During the heat of the days hunt I napped in the shade, 8 mile day, 1100 elevation up and down. back in camp and asleep before dark
Swede it may have turned out to be a chicken dinner day, like many of my hunts when the want is much more but a solo day in the woods that few ever experience

Theres a spot 17 miles northeast of me that i found the biggest, baddest, most perfect morels ive ever seen in may 2020. Im tempted to go back there and have a look soon. If theyre still growing there ill make you put your foot in your mouth.
