March 2024 WapitiTalk Photo of the Month Contest

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 03 01, 2024 •  [Post 1]

This month’s theme is “Mmm, that is a tasty burger!”. Let's see some camp chow pics.

1. One photo submission allowed per month, per member (yep, stinky MODs may enter a photo also).
2. Photo must relate to the monthly theme (or risk being disqualified).
3. Do not use photo editing software to enhance your photo. Just post the photo as it was taken with your camera, smart phone, trail cam, etc. You may have to resize some photos so they are accepted by the forum software; remember, photos can only be 800X600 pixels "MAX" for our forum.
4. You may use older photos you have on hand, but, do not submit a photo that has won a previous WT photo contest.
5. Any WT member may enter a photo they have taken or appear in.
6. Judging – WT members will vote on monthly photo submissions.
7. Contest period will normally end the last day of the month.
8. Winner must contact WapitiTalk1 via PM and provide mailing address for prize (your prize may be sent directly from a WT sponsor or from RJ).
9. Prizes will vary from month to month.
10. All monthly winners will be automatically entered into the "photo of the year" contest.

The prize for the March 2024 contest is to be determined

I will lead this off! It says "burger" so I guess I will stick with the topic!! Nothing like a warm burger after 12 hours in the woods. PEACE!!

I admit, I lack in this department. I don't often prioritize food in camp, just eating pre-cooked/frozen meals in base camp, and pretty meager offerings on the mountain. I'll see if I can drum something worthy up.

I confirmed, I don't have any images of elk camp meals. Any camp meals as a matter of fact. So how about the meals I brought home from elk camp???

Just doing the best I can with what I have to offer, which isn't much. :)

I've been missing out on form activities.
Guess I'll have to run to town and get some burger. And post a current at snow goose camp picture

Grasping at straws are we. lol This ain’t the best picture… but it sure does bring to mind what we sometimes consider food on the mountain. Camp chow! That looks to be chicken ala king. Even a little sage on the ground for garnish.

Im out

I ate one burger this month while goose hunting in SD.
Two of us in our mid 60s had pulled 1500-1600 decoys moved fields 50 miles then set up 450 full-body decoys 300 socks decoys in the dark and wind.

, it was one good burger Gil had waiting for us. 20% fat, on a grill early med rare with lots of fat and juices leaking out into the paper towel , butter toasted bun, pre slices of cheddar, onion tomato, mayo Tim fell asleep sitting and eating his burger.
Not many pictures of anything this year,, just way too tired ( happily tired )

If I made it back to camp during daylight during elk camp often this was my meal,, sometimes different meat, more eggs ( no yolks) , more peppers, more jalapenos, serranos peppers,,,
