Yesterday driving home I saw the "perfect" photo opportunities. West Of Kemmerer Wyoming.(Fossil Butte) A heavy trail of elk track leading up to a dozen elk feeding on a windswept knob,, and the cool I suspected a crippled bull I saw three weeks ago, feeding off hay drops and bedding on the snow blown road to the hay yard.

Then Border Pass, it would have needed a telephoto lens, but two elk at 8200 feet in deep, deep snow have been the same couple of acres of hillside digging through the deep fresh snow from the past storms , I suspect happy enough to be caught on a south facing slope with feed and not leaving.

Im not sure where the "sign " picture was taken, but Ive seen some really neat road elk signs in Canada
