1959

Postby Jhg » 05 19, 2022 •  [Post 1]

There are benefits to marriage. Companionship. Shared challenges bringing you closer. The joy of seeing your better half succeed or attain something they worked hard for.

Then there is the father-in-law, who hearing you wax nostalgic about a rifle you had as a younger man, but let get away. Then taking the time and trouble finding a super rare one for you as a birthday gift.

Life is Good

Presenting a 1959 Nylon 66 in Seneca green. 22LR. The photos do not show the color well, but it is a green toned stock.
Thumb adjust windage, accurate as all get out. Never needs much care. A fantastic rifle for the kid still somewhere in all of us.

My memory is a little clouded, but what nylon 22 had the fold down portion of the forearm?

Nice gun. It sounds like you married into a great family.

Funny how guns can play a memorable role in relationships. I had a friend from Ontario who had a shotgun wedding… for real.

Wasnt that the rifle the first gazillion sold you got a block of wood shot with a 77 ?

When we got married my FIL offered us a choice of a browning 30-06 or the 243 my wife killed most of her deer with.

IDK. A guy shot over 100,000 2-1/2" blocks using the 66, missing only 6 or so.

It was indeed. That was my first year to have a hunting license with deer tag and I went to eastern Oregon deer hunting with my dad and his friend.
