A fix for dry weather boo boos on fingers.

Use this stuff. Helps seal and eventually heal those dry weather end of your finger open cracks/wounds. How do you know it’s working? Well, it hurts like hell at first but in the end, it’ll seal/heal em up.

Excellent info. I have also used pine/spruce/fir pitch with good results. Ugly but effective. Kinda dependent on tree availability.

Super glue for the cracks ,and when gutting out animals use latex gloves. Blood will really dry out your skin

two funny stories. First time my buddy Eric went archery elk hunting with us he got big blisters on his heels. Like the size of a quarter. I found some New Skin to put on them (they had popped and worn off the protective outer layer of skin). You should have seen his reaction. Priceless. Not recommended for open blisters!!

Second, we found a pitch tree like pictured above. One of our guys, Adam, had to do his business, so Ben and I hatched a plan while we waited. We knew we couldn't fool him outright, it had to be subtle. As he was coming back, I casually broke off a piece of pitch and pretended to pop it in my mouth and then turned away from Adam. Soon Ben did the same. Never said a word. Pretty soon, Adam asked what we were doing. "Natures gum" we said. He broke off a big piece and threw it in his mouth and started chewing. then started swearing. Ben and I laughed for hours. He literally had that stuff stick to his teeth for a longgggg time. Every time we would look at him we would burst out laughing. Not the best for elk hunting, but it was sure an enjoyably day on the mountain! For Ben and I anyway.

I use super glue, carry it in my pack, also works good for cuts when you are in a pinch.

Also can create a bit of humor when your partner uses it on his finger tips and tries to use the touch screen on his phone.

About a month ago I was building a knife and ran my finger into the belt on my grinder. Hurt like heck !! After I finally got the bleeding stopped, I put the New Skin on it. Guess I didn't notice the pain too much because it was already hurting anyhow. But it did help to seal the wound.

Also, it helps to put it on the tips of your fingers when playing the guitar until you develope callouses. Also, I have used it on my heels as soon as I felt a hot spot before the blister had a chance to develope.

New skin is good. I've used the EMT gel I keep in my bag when hunting eith my dog a few times, it works like a champ too.

Can't find any lately, except in a spray container that does not go on very heavy and you can't do a small area like the old bottle that had brush in it.

I should state that pic brought back painful memories. My thumbs would split wide open.
