Was it him!

Postby Lefty » 10 14, 2021 •  [Post 1]

Off and on driving up to hunt camp I had spotted a nice buck.
Today I was unable to hunt where I planned, and with a few afternoon hours, and all this snow maybe I could glass the buck up.

The drive was a ways from camp. Glassing for a couple hours I wasn't seeing track or deer.

Well time hunt closer to camp anyway.

A short distance from my glassing location, laying in the ditch was a big bodied deer, with no head!
:cry,

That's discouraging. Also considering deer season has been open there for 5 days, why would anyone not take the whole deer? I believe Idaho has a roadkill salvage program as well. No reason to let a good deer rot in a ditch.
I hunt therefore I am. I fish therefore I lie.

Lefty: Did you report this to the game warden?

No. this section of road is a slaughter house. dead elk calf yesterday afternoon. Last year a bigger black bear

I drove past the buck, kind of painfull. He was one of two I had picked out to chase.
The other buck I had only seen once since August.
