Show your best skull finds

Postby Jhg » 09 29, 2021 •  [Post 1]

Show your best skull find. Any species as long as it was a free roaming, wild animal.

Here is mine. You can see the rodent work on some antler tips. I scored it assuming the chewed tips mirrored their duplicate. It scored 350. The spread was 48". I tell my wife and kids, this is why we bushwack. You don't find stuff like this on a trail!

I thought "deadheads" were Jerry Garcia fans or hitchhikers trying to catch a ride on your freeways. :D

Can't pick 'em up in NM either, unless you get permission from NMDGF.

Behind the house last week. I love collecting skulls and sheds. I have them all around the house.

Upside down???

At first I thought it was a shed. Mostly buried in the mud in a thick area by a small creek. It’s always interesting to see where they go to die.

Found a small mountain lion skull. in with scattered deer bones I'm guessing the tooth mark was from a bigger lion punctured through the skull

Last week I found parts of a pine martin skull beside a fox den.

For what ever reason, and maybe it was the stench, but a rag horn wouldn't come any closer, 40 yards up hill was too far for my daughter to shoot
Big Ben, our neighboring grizzly killed this blackbear and skinned him, sorta. didnt look like much of a figh, the ground was torn up a bit

I found the majority of a moose kill in the mountains of Colorado while scouting elk territory. It was at 11,500' and I strapped it to my back and carried it down the mountain. The majority of the bones were scattered nearby and around the site by predators. Skol.
