"Theres a kitten in my barn"

Postby wawhitey » 06 22, 2021 •  [Post 1]

So my neighbors barn, well, she calls it a barn but its more of a shed. Nice metal building, slab, and one of those cat doors so her little gopher terrorist can come and go as it pleases. It has a bed in there, she feeds it in there.
Well a few days ago my neighbor emailed me. Said she smelled what she thought was cat urine, and heard a little hiss. Her cat seemed very relaxed, unconcerned. She looked and saw a little black furball behind a crate, thought it was a kitten. Didnt want to get too close, figured a feral cat had brought her litter in there. She wanted to give them some space. I jojed that she probably had a litter of skunks.
Well, today she fi ally got a good look at it. Sent me this pic with, "this is NOT a kitten, what the heck is it?"

Looks like it might be a mink.

Well, out at sea again, emailed about a cat at my neighbors. This time it was a cat of a sort.

7pm last night, emails from my neighbor:

1: OMG, there’s a cougar walking up my driveway.  I heard a bunch of turkeys upset, and looked out the window to see a cougar right there.  He lay down in my driveway for a few minutes before sauntering up toward the house.

2:
OMG, now he’s 10 feet from my bedroom window, lying on my front lawn!

3: It was only about 10 feet from my bedroom window (right on the front lawn next to the driveway landing).  For quite some time I stood there with the cougar staring right into my eyes.  Very freaky.

Damn cats. Probably a juvenile cougar. They can be very curious.
