Social Distancing

Postby Swede » 02 08, 2021 •  [Post 1]

All right you jerks. "Social distancing" does not apply to posting on WapitiTalk. If you have not had your rabbis shots, I would watch out for some of the other forums, but you are safe here on WT. Some of you have been gone so long, I am worried you might be laid up with Covid 19, so lets get some more threads going and you can vote for Swede on the next picture of the month contest. You will probably have to do it as a write in, but I just said you "jerks"; I did not say you are dunces. :D

Carp from good water are quite tasty.

Smoked they are very good. Maybe not like a good redhorse sucker or whitefish but good

My uncle had the best carp recipe. It goes as such:
1. Catch Carp
2. Fillet or steak your catch, it does not matter.
3. Rub cedar plank with olive oil and favorite seasoning.
4. Place fillets or steaks on plank and season again.
5. Bake in the over at 400 for no more than 10 minutes.
6. Pull out and let rest for 5 minutes.
7. Throw carp away and eat the cedar plank.

Voila.
I hunt therefore I am. I fish therefore I lie.

Psssh.... I'm catching carp for the thrill of it fellas! Who wouldn't like to tangle with 15+ lb fish on a fly rod? Anyways, I've got redfish 3.5 hours away, and the white bass run will kick off in a few weeks locally, if I want to eat piscatorial critters.

And who would want to eat fish when there's still elk and mule deer in the freezer?!

I'll bet that was fun. Carp are great fighters and they taste pretty good as well.

Yep! It was a total rodeo to land that sucker. Fish was tucked up on the bank near a bunch of dead wood, and wrapped my line and fly rod  around a big branch when I hooked it. Thankfully the branch broke before the fly rod did.

Frosty nights, so no snakes this time of year.

Valley of Fire ,.. Just out of Vegas 50 miles A miniature version of lots of southern Utah. http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire slickrock, small slot canyons , domes, and 22 rams together, about as wild as domestic sheep

We camped one night in a new tortoise reserve. BLM land that was suppose to be labeled and fenced. We're the last people to camp and pee in Section B of a 7000 acre reserve. :P
we just got back from 13 nights; mosly in a tent on refuge, wilderness and BLM lands
Sorta followed the Colorado river desert country
