Favorite Action Movie?

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 01 18, 2020 •  [Post 1]

It’s the off season ;). What your favorite action movies? I mean the kind that you have in DVD or always watch when they pop up on the tube. Taken, John Wick, Drive Angry, Rambo, Hard Times, Highlander, Die Hard, Bloodsport, Under Siege, Rules of Engagement? Give up an action/adventure movie or two that top your list of the best 8)

Tears of the Sun or Act of Valor top my list. A of V had actual team members as the cast.

I think for now I would say the following are my favorites: "In Harms Way" starring John Wayne and Kirk Douglas, "Pale Rider" starring Clint Eastwood, and "Hanover Street" starring Harrison Ford.
Each of these movies speak to something within that I can't exactly explain. I never get too much of watching films of WW2 Pacific battles. The Saint Paul was a great ship and epitomizes what it was to be a sailor in WW2 combat. I really like it where the teen girl is reading from the Apocalypse where it reads, "And I looked and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him." Just as the teen girl finishes reading there, you see Clint Eastwood riding past the window of the cabin, and he is riding on a pale horse. Hanover Street just touches my heart. If I wrote a fiction book, it would have much in common with the theme of that movie.

I like war and mystery action movies. But they all loose my interest when they have to use the F word so much.

Does Grumpy Old Men count as an action movie?

I now tend to like the more mellow action movies
Some of Tom Clancys made to movies like Hunt a for. Red October
And the predictable westerns, good guy saves the girl ranch or town( Lois Lamor) story line
And the clever spy/detective (Bourne)

Again maybe borderline action but historically based film such as saving “Private Ryan”

I enjoy movies that an hour later I can be asleep and not wake up in a stressful dream
