Too hot of a trail cam elk set up

Can I cry, not for the cooked trail camera but the loss of my retirement; when Im too old to walk elk location is mostly gone

It's always upsetting when the fire rolls through, and a double whammy with the cam...but the game will be back just give em a year or two...Elk and deer love burns.

The elk are getting fewer and fewer in the desert where I was hunting directly because of the loss of “old growth” sage brush. The stuff the elk bedded in, hid, rubbed and to get out of the sun is mostly gone. There have been 5 fires over 100,000 acres (some burned twice from cheet grass invasion) in the past 12 years.
The biologist claimed it will be 30 years. I don’t agree, I just think the numbers will be less for a while then gradually increase as long is there isn’t excessive hunting or recreational pressure. However the Fish and game allows too many tags in the area along with depredation tags

The elk will still move through this,.. but not like they have in the past. All the burnt area for a while will provide is huge open space and better antelope habitat
