calling all cougars

so ive been screwing around waiting for the right weather to track down cats. isnt going to happen. no snow in the last 10 days and none in the forecast for next couple weeks. so to hell with it. im going out tomorrow and im going to call all day. i know lots of good spots, more than enough for a day of run and gun calling. ive only called in coyotes before, and from what i understand cats take longer to call in. more persistent calling. has anybody here ever successfully called in a mountain lion? on purpose? if so id love to hear how you went about it, what you did right and what youve done wrong. all i have going for me right now is the fact that there are a ton of cougars around here.

oh and i may as well say now that ill be using a closed reed mouth call, not an electronic. kind of changes the game.

Saw an awsome thread few weeks back I'll try and dig up for you. I think it's some western washington folks that are making cat calls. Anyway several stories and pics all calling in cats. Got me all sorts of excited just reading thier stories. I'll see if I can dig it up.

oh ill be looking at that. rain shadow knows his cats. he was just over in my gmu recently and shot at, but missed a cat. need to get him to go 15 min further next time so i can have him drop one from my main area. too damn many. ive put in a few unsuccessful set ups lately, but im not doing too much right now, heard we may have some snow on the way which would be a lot better than this blind calling. unfortunately my quad is having issues right now, so i have to take it into shop tomorrow. cant get up where the cats are without my quad
