October 2024 WapitiTalk Photo of the Month Contest

This month’s theme is “Fur, Fangs, and Claws”! Let's see some pics of critters sporting fur, fangs, and claws
1. One photo submission allowed per month, per member (yep, stinky MODs may enter a photo also).
2. Photo must relate to the monthly theme (or risk being disqualified).
3. Do not use photo editing software to enhance your photo. Just post the photo as it was taken with your camera, smart phone, trail cam, etc. You may have to resize some photos so they are accepted by the forum software; remember, photos can only be 800X600 pixels "MAX" for our forum.
4. You may use older photos you have on hand, but, do not submit a photo that has won a previous WT photo contest.
5. Any WT member may enter a photo they have taken or appear in.
6. Judging – WT members will vote on monthly photo submissions.
7. Contest period will normally end the last day of the month.
8. Winner must contact WapitiTalk1 via PM and provide mailing address for prize (your prize may be sent directly from a WT sponsor or from RJ).
9. Prizes will vary from month to month.
10. All monthly winners will be automatically entered into the "photo of the year" contest.

The prize for the October 2024 contest is to be determined.

A long time ago
This was a catch and release Idaho red fox. the whole story is better than the picture. My FIL had been trying to catch the fox in the live trap.
He wanted a pic of him holding the fox. I gave him instruction.

Never let the foxes feet touch the ground

And he had a real face to face with the foxes fangs fur and claws

You just saw the bloodthirsty hellhound i posted, quailed at the look of impending doom in his feiry eyes, and realized youd have to have a picture of a rabid wolverine to one up me .. i dont blame you for not trying.

It was a pretty sobering moment for me.

Met a fellow in SD while we were snow goose hun ting,,, he wanted to show us a few farms. He showed up in a week-old totally decked out King Ranch. We were headed for a tour of his goose country.
I called my dog Daisy,, and put her in my trailer.
At the Pickup Bill said " Your dog comes too"

Here, I tracked one down. Only coyote I've ever shot.

I wish to officially change my submission. Though my picture of my little buddy technically meets the criteria of the contest, i feel the spirit of the contest is pics of wild animals. So im going to rip off leftys submission, in a hostile takeover attempt, and post my own competing picture of a live fox. And while i undoubtedly have the superior submission, destined to win photo of the month, if not photo of the year, ill still display my good sportsmanship by voting for leftys submission with the sweet acid washed jeans.

Just look how fluffy that lil sucker is. No fox in the lower 48 can compete with afox that lives north of the arctic circle. Ill take my gold medal now rj.
