Flint or Stone Tipped Arrows for Big Game?

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 10 31, 2012 •  [Post 1]

Found the following VID digging around in youtube last night. Thought it was interesting. I'm not ready to chisel out some flint heads for my carbon arrows quite yet :D but as always has been the case, it appears that a well placed arrow with almost any kind of tip may result in a harvested animal, even hundreds of years ago with light draw weights and tiny arrow tips.. Again, just thought it was interesting and wanted to share. RJ

My neighbor growing up was an artist and had a bunch of artsy friends around. I'm not sure what he did for a living exactly, but one of her friends was the guy that made all the replica indian weapons for displays at the Herrett Museum at the College of Southern idaho. He made all his own gear and hunted mule deer in southern idaho with reeealy traditional gear, including handmade arrows and obsidian heads. As I recall, he was very successful with his hand made gear.
