Fixed Pin with Adjustable single pin Sights

I've been thinking about moving towards the 3-4 fixed pins with and adjustable pin for further ranges. I've shot the IQ sights for the past 4 years, I know there is a mixed emotion about how these work, I do like them because it makes me settle into my shot the same way so I do gain a lot more accuracy. My buddies are all about the Spot Hogg sights which I have read into a bit, but I am really interested in the Trophy Taker Option 4. Does anyone have any experience with this sight? And there is a brand new version of the IQ called the Pro Hunter- 2 fixed pin and 1 adjustable- Does anyone out there have one of these and an opinion to go with it?

I use a CBE 3 pin slider. It is good but perhaps not great. I love the concept of having fixed pins at 20, 30, 40 and bottom pin becomes the slider for longer distance.

Since I am an archery newbie, I cant imagine shooting an Elk at over 50 yards. My sight uses a battery operated light which is illegal in Colorado so I am not happy with that. It works ok in daylight but the pins are hard to see in low light. I personally think the IQ concept has merit.

The concept of two fixed pins and one slider sounds great to me. I say go for it!

I will be a bit disappointed this season if I have to take a shot longer than 30 yards. I believe that I can get them in close.

I would take a look at Montana Black Gold Ascent Sights. They have some of the brightest durable pins and one of the best warranties in the business. They'll also allow you to custom build your sight through them or SandS Archery. Take a look at Sandsarchery.com and they have some really good videos on how to set up the sight.

X 2 on the black gold sights ...I shoot a 5 pin slider and that setup is awesome ...been shooting it for about 4 years ..Wish I would of switched to one earlier ...Go to your pro shop and get a good sight tape made from archers advantage program and you will be amazed how accurate the tape is...I shoot out to 130 ..Granted I would not take a shot on a animal that far but I like to practice double the distance I am comfortable...So 60 and 70 yard shots turn into chip shots...Life time warranty and absolutely the best customer service...Don't knock it till you try it...

I am not familiar with any of the sights you have named. I have a apex 4 pin adjustable sight and love it. Its nice because you don't have to gap your pins if there in between yardage. You just adjust the pin according to your range your shooting. If it's 37 yards you can put your pin in between your 35 and 40 Mark with confidence. My sight is set up with a fixed 20, 40, 50, 60 yard pins. The reason for that is you will find your pin gap is the same after 40 yards. So i target practice out to 100 yards by putting my adjustable sight at 70 yards so that my 40 yards fixed is now on at 80, 50 is on at 90 and 60 is on at 100 yards. Practicing that far really helps with your mechanics. I like the 4 pin setup for that reason and if anot animal comes in fast and you don't have time to adjust you don't have to worry and if it's at 30 I am a little high. Alooking wI think the 20 40 gap you don't have that 30 yards pin so close to your 20 pin. I really like the apex the front ring glows in the dark and the pins are very bright.
