Draw Weight

I am siting at about 68# draw weight with a 28 inch Draw Length. I can crank it up to 70# but wondering if that extra 2# will really make that much difference? I am comfortable at 68# right now, and am comfortable at 70#. But I have always hunted with it set at 68# and that is what I am used to. Is it worth cranking it up the extra 2# or just leave it as is? Wondering if I should crank it up as I practice through the summer for my September elk hunt. Or call it good with 68# since that is what I have always had it at.

Leave it right where it is Luke. 68 is plenty, especially if you're comfortable with it.

Agreed! I elk hunt with 65# to 67# -- No problems at all & have taken elk to 50yds with complete pass throughs! Make sure you are shooting arrows in the 400 grain to 450 grain with razor sharp heads. Note, because a head is new out of the package it does not mean they are ready to hunt with, some need serious sharpening before hunting with them!

And 2# pounds is going to only net you around 4fps. It may also alter your nock pt, so I'd leave it.

I shoot at 65# with a 422 grain total arrow weight. That's plenty for me . As most people would say, shoot what you are comfortable with. It's all about personal preference.

You would gain about 4 FPS. Not even noticeable. I will probably shoot about 55 #'s this year, not worried at all. Guys shoot through them with 55# recurves.

Use you limb bolts to fine tune your bow. You have plenty and then some.
