I wanted to pass this on to you guys. Maybe its what you need to get yourself a pair. 2 years ago I bought a pair of mountain extremes at an rmef banquet. Got them in a silent auction for under $250. Needless to say I thought it was a great deal. Wore them for two elk seasons and probably put about 500 miles on them total. I'm very hard on shoes so to say they take a beating is an understatement. This past rifle season I started getting wet feet. I'll be honest, I became pretty frustrated that these boots were leaking. I'd read so many reviews of people saying they've had their boots for many years and no problems. I called Kenetrek and spoke to their customer service. They were very pleasant to deal with but it sounded like best case scenario was going to be $125 for a rebuild. Better than $500 for new boots but still not what I wanted to spend my money on. Anyways, I filled out the form checking the "contact me with findings" box and a I'll cross that bridge when I get there attitude. The boots got sent off and I waited for the cost. Thursday afternoon I get an email saying your order shipped. Confused, I read it thinking they must have sent the boots back and there is nothing wrong. Bummed out they didn't call and advise what was wrong I went on with my business. The next day I'm at work and get a call from my wife whose 7 months pregnant and on the verge of killing me wanting to know what credit card I gave to Kenetrek to fxi my boots. I defended myself by telling her I didn't give them anything because YOU told me not to. She opened the box to find a brand new pair and an invoice saying I owe 0 dollars. Nice gesture but too good to be true because my boots weren't under warranty anymore. I called today to double check. When I got ahold of the customer service gal I kinda started quizing her. She asked if everything was OK and if I was happy with what I got. I told her I was but wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I try to avoid getting really excited before I know for sure. She said my boots had a manufacture defect and they wanted to make it right, and if that means a new pair of boots then that's what it takes. I was shocked! I can't ever remember being treated that good by any company. I told her she has my business as long as they keep making my size (16 not easy to find ) I also told her that not only are their boots awesome, but so is their customer service and I would be sure to tell anyone who is willing to listen.

I started using Kennetreks a few years ago and in 2013 i wore a hole in the toe box (clear through the rubber and into the leather). Had to keep hunting! Anyway, i sent them back that winter and they did a resole, no charge! They definately want to keep their customers happy and coming back. For some people these boots can take a while to break in. Mine took probably 50+ miles before the heels stopped giving blisters on steep climbs but they have been great ever since. Highly recommended! I hunt about twenty days each September plus hiking trips, pack training and turkey hunting. I never wear my boots for anything but hiking activities. They should last for a few more years. The treads themselves don't seem to wear very fast(hard compound).
