my bow is pretty awesome. BUT with maxed out limbs, i am only pulling 67 lbs. it feels great, and shoot super accurate..but when i called the bowshop to ask about putting some twist in the cables, i got the run around.

i dont think it is rocket science.

i had new strings installed. if i did it myself, i think i would make it perfectly in spec and go from there..installing things like peep, d-loop.

i'm gonna leave it, but next set of stirings..i am gonna take a crack at it. if i mess it up..try again.

anyone else learning bow mechanics?

oh, got the EZ green press.

probably rig it up on some portable saw horse so i can run it to my bowrange for on the fly tuning.

and i am gonna make a draw board.

I did the same a few years ago. What you'll find is that you will end up with a bow that is better tuned bc you have more time to do it. Also, you will have more confidence in your rig and your ability to fix an issue.

Forums and YouTube are all you need to learn most of it.

You are going to have one huge regret. That will be that you didn't do this years ago. Bows are very simple to work on. Nuts n Bolts of archery is also a good resource. You can download it from AT.

once you learn how to do your own bow work, you wont want anyone else to touch it. you wont regret that purchase.

i admit, i am sorta nervous.

i am so tired from my deer hunt..drove home, and to fully respect the deer, i did all my meat cutting late into the night..

then woke up early to wash my truck..i owe it that..the bed looked like a CSI crime scene..so did my laundry.

The first few times I pressed a bow I was very worried I was going to mess it up and ruin my bow. I've done it more times than I can count now and don't even think about it now
