Boots for around a $100 bucks

What is the best 10" high boot for around a 100 bucks? (Elk and deer hunting Central Idaho)

I work with a 19 year old kid that's looking for a "Good" boot for around a 100 bucks. I know there's a 1000 threads about boots, but i need good ideas for his budget.

He asked me one day what kind of boots I hunted in and how much they were, I told him and he about fainted. It really made me think, cause I really couldn't come up with a "Good" boot for around $100. It seems like now days everybody is going with the high dollar mountaineering boots from top dawg boot makers, but I remember being that age and trying to get the best bang for my buck too.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

dont know how good they are but you can get assolo sassalong for around 135 depending on what coupon you have from sierra trading post

Check ebay too. My hunting partner got a virtually brand new pair of kenetrek boots for around $70 this spring. I always keep an eye on the REI outlet online too (http://www.rei.com/outlet/category/29360729).

Sierra Trading Post has great deals, the Asolo boots are great, I have boyh the FSN 95's and Sassalongs. Bothe excelent options. He can get the FSN 95's for under $100 with coupons and the Sassalongs for $130-$150.

Both of theae boots are not close to 10" boots, the FSN is 5" and the Sassalong is 6". They both give great support and I personally will not get a boot over 6" or insulated for myself but that is purely personal.

Overall there is no reason to spend a ton with such good deals out there.

zamberlan skeens at sierra 92 bucks today. havnt heard any reviews or opinions on them but look like a nice boot

Thats what I said! He looked at the assolo sassalong and liked them. Couldn't find a pair cheap enough though. There are a lot of good deals out there, he should find something that works for him.

Well seirra trading post has a code on their page currently for 25% off the listed price and then if he signs up his email he'll be able to take 20% off the discounted price. Should be able to get them under $150 pretty easy. If that is still high keep watching because they throw out new discount codes all the time and if he holds on to the one time discount for just signing up his email he will get them cheaper.
