Evening Time Topknot Comfort/Warmth

I always pack a lightweight synthetic beenie (stocking cap) for my archery elk camps. It's nice to sit around camp in and wear in the sack. Anybody else do this?

Yup, always take one,nothing like keeping your head warm to help warm the whole body.

I take a couple. I'm really good at losing them. I wear it while sleeping and in the morning. I'm always cold when I wake up. Hardest part of elk hunting for me is getting out of a warm sleeping bag.

I'm mostly bald naturally and shave the rest of my hair to finish it off. I take a merino wool beanie as well as a warmer stocking hat in case it gets cold at night while sleeping. When posting our back country hunting gear a while back, someone mentioned I take too many hats (I also take a brimmed hat I hunt in). I just laughed at that comment and thought to myself, you guys with hair have it easy but I'm packing all 3 hats.

I usually have about 3 beenies with me. Love them.

I used to pack a stocking type hat but it would always come off during the night and I would wake up with a cold head and search around for the hat then try to get back to sleep.
I now use a balaclava and not only does it not fall off but keeps my neck warm as well.

I wear one at night also. sometimes in the am hike if its cold enough. so yes, I bring one...

The versatility of a balaclava is why it is the "hat" that goes in my pack. Mine is loose enough that I can turn it into just a ear warmer / head band for the cool morning hikes when I am starting to generate too much heat for a full hat but still need something for my ears.
Functionality over form for me every time.

Yes I belong to the lightweight beanie club as well. I have been doing this so long that it is even optional equipment anymore.
