I use a harness. Works great, don't have to worry about it getting in the way and easy to grab when needed or wanted

Just like Elknut but in an FHF case :) in the past I just used a harness with them freefloating but so far i'm really liking how snug the FHF keeps them.

i really am impressed with the quality of the FHF case. Its not a quick order get it in three days item, but when you get it, it is worth the wait

Got the harness last Season..awesome way to hunt.

Mine has quick release fittings so you can instantly pop the binos off the harness if need be.

I carry them like Elknut shows, unless I am in my tree stand. If I am in my stand I hang them on a readily accessable hook on the tree trunk, or possibly a limb.

I prefer the solution like Paul is wearing from Crooked Horn, they have lasted many years of hiking the backcountry and crawling through brush. The Sitka Bino Bivy is pretty nice as well, I just haven't found a need to keep them that protected....yet! I am sure a goat or sheep would warrant that.

Sitka Bino Bivy for me. I hated the bounciness while moving quickly or jumping, and the tension while glassing with the rubber band style harness. The Bino Bivy keep my binos clean, dry, free of getting fogged up, and best of all they don't move around on me. In terms of access they are just as easy to get to as my old harness was when it was worn inside my outer layer.

I bought the bino system from crooked horn when they first came out and still use them and they have worked great. They are starting to show some wear and time to be replaced. Thanks for the info. guys, I think I will look into the Sitka Bino Bivy system.

i have the FHF one that i have not taken out yet..i ridden my mountain bike with it..and it is surprisingly stable.
i also have the alaskan guide one..decent. it cuts into my neck a tad while wearing warm weather clothing.

up till now, i just used a regular harness. it was really nice..moderately bouncy. but the downside, my binos got filthy. hunting in the desert environment is brutal. that is why i bought the above two chest cases. i am not wiping out my new glass..just yet. i do love just lifting them to my face..the added move of opening the case is a jagged pill.

Here's me wearing it on a camping trip with my wife. It doesn't get in the way of my pack in the least.

I have a harness like Paul and windedbowhunter mentioned. It's a good balance between comfort, weight, bulk, and easy access. I like to keep it simple. Another piece of gear to store my binos isn't something I need/want.

As far as bino harnesses go, The Badlands harness is tough to beat for me. Carries on the shoulder better than the thinner harnesses do, tighter so as to keep the binos in a more comfortable position and not bouncing around on the body, and I don't feel the need for the full case on my chest (though not knocking those who do).

I have a Crooked Horn harness that I won at the state bowhunter convention several years ago. I would not go hunting without them now.

We carry the badlands bino harness, and something called the bino case. If you want a product that completely covers and protects your binoculars from dust or debris, or weather, this is your product.

I use a crooked horn.
If your elastic wears out, just go to a sewing store and buy some in bulk. A lot cheaper than a new harness.

I found the Badlands cumbersome to get my EL's in and out of quickly. I need a new harness as well, but I think I will stick to the simple harness systems that keep your binos right on your chest ready to use.

Sorry for the delay. Some guys find no issue with that, others have said it was bulkier. The reality is it isn't near as padded in real life as it looks in the picture.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but how do you handle a rangefinder? Does it connect to the bino harnesses mentioned?

I have a retracter on my rangefinder. It fastens to my right side pack harness, very easy to use and all I have to do is let go of it and it is out of the road and allows me to shoot my bow with no worrys

planebow, I have used 2 options for my rangefinder. I have used the simple method of tying it around my pant belt and storing it in my cargo pocket in the pant leg. I have also used the Crooked Horn RF Sidekick. I like both options for different reasons.
