Receiver hitch cargo carrier?

Postby Elkduds » 04 11, 2014 •  [Post 1]

My '96 Pathfinder has spare tire on rack outside tailgate. I'm after a sturdy receiver rack with some setback so it can be loaded w spare in place. Who has experience or recommenations with these? Thanks in advance.

I have no experience but I found this on Amazon. If this is what you are looking for $19 I dont know how sturdy it is.

Put 4 totes full of gear on my cargo carrier on my kia sorento and the weight made the hind end sag enough it drug coming out of a couple gas stations. Other than that worked great. Just try to keep the weight as far forward as possible.

My friend uses one. On his honda ridgeline. His angles up so his departure angle is not reduced. He loads it with two gas cans and a yeti cooler. It is a bad ass set up even for a wimpy car-truck. Haha.

they work better for higher up vehicles. had one on my Taurus and it scrapped all the time. put it on my buddies trailblazer and had no problems. they are excellent for adding more storage. my receiver is being fitted with a bike rack this fall :D

Me too!

I want the kuat rack. In riding more and more. So I can almost justify it.

The receiver on my Pathfinder is 19" high, so that should prevent scraping. I'm thinking $40ish used, not too spendy. Don't want a loose fitting, noisy one though.
