What do you wear for really nasty weather?

Specifics, please. I've been looking at all the KUIU stuff. Trying to figure out a good layering system that will keep me comfortable when the temps drop, the wind picks up, and the precipitation falls. And when the weather turns, as it does around here and other places I hunt, I'd like to add or shed layers to stay comfortable, as needed. What works best for you?

For my basic layering system it's Sitka over merino base layers. But for nasty I go to a wool parka, Stormy Kromer hat, and a fleece neck gaiter.

I wear either a tent, a camper, or a great big tree canopy with a nice fire when it gets too bad. If I had the coin I'd buy either Sitka or KU. Both have top notch lines with everything you need for layering. I wear Redram merino cuz its the cheapest merino out there.

I have some older Browning rain pants and a fairly heavy saddle cloth

In the past 5 years Ive worn them once, last fall, 40 degrees, rain and screaming wind
I also bring along my drake waterfowl jacket for cold and snow, Ive worn some mornings while waiting for first light

i'll probably die in deep snow, or a blizzard..so i draw the line there.

i wear, (inside out).
merino wool shirt , chama
merino wool, camo shirt, llano.
cheap bass pro fleece vest
sitka 90% jacket.

merino wool bottoms,
attack pant

if it rains, i put on my XL chaguch. which is big, but fits over everything. not so sure i could shoot my bow. haha.
and my brother gave me a prototype patagonia rain pant that they developed for the military. it rips off like college basketball pants. they are awesome. but non camo. gray in color. i love them.

i havent been chased off of a mountain yet. in AZ january,,we had sideways windy rain conditions. got down to the low 20's, and i could sit still wearing everything. once i start hiking. i put things in the pack. mix and match.

I've been looking at the KUIU Yukon. I've heard the sizes run big to give room for layering. I'm 6'2" and about 260. I wear XL to XXL, depending on the garment. I'd like to be able to layer underneath the jacket. Does XL sound like a good fit?

My old system using Cabela's MTO50 (with Gore-tex) starting failing to the point that I had to upgrade two years ago. Went with the Chugach and love it (100% waterproof and incredibly lightweight), should have upgraded much earlier. I believe the Yukon is slightly heavier (and more expensive), but is an outstanding shell that will allow you to ride out any storm. I would guess you are looking at a XL, possibly XXL (if you haven't already gone to the Kuiu forum, do a search on sizing, there are hundreds of posts on sizing questions). I also picked up their Superdown Vest for an insulation layer, which is great when you're moving, or doing quick setups, and moving again. The Superdown does not insulate enough for extended periods of inactivity below 30 degrees IMO.

Sneaky, I hate rain pants. I wear Cabelas Microtex pants (which dry quickly) with gaiters in wet weather. Cabelas Space rain jacket is super packable and light, and keeps me dry when moving through brush, etc. I can wear it with or without a down vest underneath (again, light and packable)!

In combination with the SLIP System, I do not feel a need for much else...and we had it all last Season...rain, snow, sleet for multiple days.

I'm all about cheap, light and packable. And I hate to sweat!

I hate sweating, too, and I do it so easy. I'm not worried about rain paints. Just the jacket. I'll check out that space jacket.
