Backpacking tent

I have been looking at getting a tipi style tent for back country hunting and fishing trips. I think the kifaru tents and pack stoves are awesome, trouble is I can't even come close to affording it. Do you guys have any suggestions of 2 person tipi style tent that packs small and light? I would like to be able to put a stove in but don't have to have a stove right now. I would like to also have the option for a floor for the wet weather here in nc or to be able to just use the shell to keep it light on a long hike. Thanks

Check out Golite! I've got an older version of the Shangri La and I had absolutely no problems with it at all. With that being said I am going to try a MSR Elixir 2 this year just for the simple reason that i wanted to try a free standing type tent, tipi style tents pretty much have to be staked out which can limit your campsite options when in the backcountry. Agree. An old shangri la. I have an unused two man if you are interested. I just like domes.

Seek Outside makes the best ultralight tipi tents on the market, and at a very good price point.

If you want cheaper then go with GoLite. They have huge batches made in China and then import them so they can get the cost down. Understand that the fabric will be less waterproof and less durable than what you can get with other manufacturers though.
