Your camo pattern

Postby foxvalley » 07 02, 2012 •  [Post 1]

Whats your camo pattern, and the type of terrain that you hunt?

I hunt mostly dark timber, in the panhandle, and I found that the mountain mimicry camo pattern is the best by far for our erea. We have all sitka gear, and they had the pattern, but now Kryptek has it.Awesome pattern!!!(You do dissapear!)

I'm using MO Treestand from Sitkagear back in 09, I believe. As long as I do my part, the elk stare right thru me.

I don't care about camo pattern much. I was actually going to go without much camo this year, but new Sitka Optifade Open Country gear fell in my lap. Now that I have it, I will use it for southern Idaho open sage, central Idaho timber, and even whitaile hunting in a treestand. I'm sooo over camo.

I like camo because it's cool! (grin) I also like the quality fabrics for staying dryer or quick drying capabilities, other than that any camo pattern is fine, elk really don't care! (grin) Elk do not see what people see! (grin)

It all depends on the area im hunting and season. I have been using Predator Spring green and Predator Evolution. I like these patterns a lot. I am however trying out this year the ASAT 3D leafy suit. The nice thing about the suit is you wear it over your clothes, so you can dress accordingly to the temperature. I like the idea of wearing shorts and a t-shirt for the warm days. I plan on wearing this on my big hunt this year. And this will be in the pines and Aspens at about 9000 ft +/- range, chasing bulls in the end of September.

Picking up First Lite gear this year. Went with the ASAT pattern over anything else. Considered the Lost Camo because I love that pattern (as far as the human eye goes) and I'm mainly whitetail hunting Wisconsink, but the ASAT seemed like it would do well out West and do an excellent job at breaking up my form when I'm skylined in a treestand when the leaves are off in late October/Early November.

I wear a bunch of different patterns depends on where I hunt, but it has to be U/A quality, quick dry and 4 way stretch!

Asat, western slope, max1, mountain mimicry, and outfitter camo. I think movement gets you busted a lot more than your camo pattern.

I like to mix my camo. Asat first lite or KUIU top along with King of the Mountain bunlite bottoms which I have had for years. I like wool personally. I generally hunt the southern Colorado rockies or northern New Mexico north of Chama. Movement and setup are crucial

Love the Max-1. Most of what I hunt is semi open sage country with quakie or pines/junipers.

I use the pattern that best conceals me for what pursuit I am after and the terrain that it matches. If i am hunting in open plains, I use Mossy Oak brush. If am hunting turkey or elk in oaks, I use Mossy Oak Obsession. Mossy Oak New Break Up Infinity is perfect for whitetail hunting or any big game in oaks, dark timber and tree stand hunting. The Mossy Oak Break Up pattern is used all over the world in all kinds of terrain and cover and has been a proven pattern for many years. Duck Blind, Treestand and many more from Mossy Oak to match the pursuit your hunting. Bill Custer Mossy Oak Far West Big Game Pro Staff. Image

You hunt right up close to where I hunt :)

I'm all solids for camo. You will see me in black, dry earth, major brown and charcoal, all different items that are solid, I don't want to just be one solid color that looks like a turd.
