Razor spotter 50mm or 65mm??

Postby 13bonatter69 » 02 28, 2013 •  [Post 1]

For you guys and gals that have played with both, which do you prefer. I know that they both have their benefits.... size and weight, vs seeing a long distance. I will mainly be using them in North Dakota spotting from the truck and packing in on foot into the badlands. I will be using them about 50/50 truck vs packing them in on hunts. They will be used packing around the elk woods as well. Thanks for any and all help, as this will be my first spotter, and I want to make the right choice.

Define long distance? I've looked through both for a few hours now & both have their place. The 65 will out distance the 50 but that's expected, the 50 will range out to 2-1/2 to 3 miles comfortably. For an all purpose Spotter the 65 would get the nod from me it will range into the 4-5 mile. For lots of distant backpacking the 50 will be in my pack.
