Eberlestock X2

Postby Ridgernr » 01 13, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I just received an Eberlestock X2 for Christmas , I have used it on a couple shed hunting trips and it feels great so far.
Does anyone know what the 2 loops at the bottom of the main compartment are for?
How have you used these loops?

Ours are all several years old & I don't see any loops? Where exactly are they?

Here is a picture with the loops circled in red at the bottom
Maybe just a lashing point , And maybe just on the newer models.

I've hauled my rifle in those loops by sticking the barrel down through there and strapping it in with the compression straps. Just don't fall backwards or sit down with it on, you'll get dirt in your barrel.

I don't know what they are really for.

Yep, just checked my pack & those loops are there. They are for what ever you want them to be. (grin) I assume they are just lashing points for gear or meat packing. I doubt they have a special purpose for any one thing. Just another feature!

Thanks guys I kind of thought they were just another lashimg point but I have not hauled a load yet just a couple 20 lb trips so far.
So I wasn't sure if they were to run the meat shelf straps thru to help secure the load side to side or what.
I may give Eberlestock a shout and see.
Just throught I would check with field users first.
Thanks ,Randy

I doubt you would ever need to use those inside loops for lashing on meat. Here's two photos, 1st photo has a hindquarter being hauled out on an X2 by my son, he's the one in closest picture. 2nd photo is of me packing out meat, cape & rack. Those loops would not come into play at all.

I thought maybe ice axe loops also, but did not really think for a hunting daypack. Maybe for goats.
