Eberlestock X2. Great for day trips but also handles meat packing nicely.

Anybody tried the Eberlestock M5 team elk backpack? Noticed it on the S and S archery website. I have an eberlestock slingshot that I have used for years as a daypack and love it, very well made.

What's your budget? This will determine my suggestion.

I use a Badlands Superday Pack. Works well. No issues.

X2, it will carry your daily needs & is a very lightweight pack for all day hunts without being bulky! As mentioned above you can also carry any meat you wish to on a 1st load out as this X2 pack has that function as well ! These are the very packs that several of us use on the ElkNut Crew! Here's 2 photos of this pack with our daily needs & a 2nd & 3rd photo of it loaded down with elk quarters, in the photo of two guys the X2 is on the hunter closet!

You can pick this Eberlestock X2 Pack up right here on our Site from "Hunthardcore" His name is there on the front page under the Sponsors list! I believe he also gives discounts to ElkNut Forum users!

Hey Bart thought I'd give you a heads up. Camofire.com will have a Badlands Superday backpack on sale today. At 41% off thought it might help the decision making process. Happy New Year.

$112.99 for a Superday pack on Camofire is one heck of a deal for sure.

I like to go light so I just use a Camelback. Plenty of room for a couple of game bags, rain gear, extra layers, food, water, and the other essentials. Works great, fit close and doesn't slow me down like a big pack.

I mess around on Youtube quite a bit. If you get on there, look up a guy that goes by the name of Shug. He has a 16# pack (minus food and water) that is goot for 5-6 day hikes. If you have trouble finding his videos, you might try looking for hammocks. He has one video where he spent the nite in his hammock at -14 below zero. And another where he did a 5-6 dayer in some canyon in NC. The guy actually has some dang good ideas even though he acts about as crazy as a bed bug. LOL! Check it out!
