The new PSE Levitate

Postby JJ Overkill » 10 25, 2021 •  [Post 1]

I got this new bow already and thought I’d share my opinion on it. But first a disclaimer: yes I’m on PSE’s pro staff but I try to give the most honest reviews as I can. My last bow was the carbon air stealth mach 1. Which I loved but it had a couple design flaws that I came across.

The levitate solved these problems. First off. It’s just as light as the Mach1. The new cam design is faster but just as smooth if not smother than the evolve cams. PSE also changed the texture of the riser from a slippery smooth surface to an almost light sandpaper type feel. Eliminating the need for me to put grip tape on the grip of the bow. The cable rod is now in a fixed position so it can no longer be moved. Some will say this is a bad thing but my cable rod on my Mach1 moved two weeks before heading to Montana. If you tighten the attachment bolt on the Mach1 to much you crack the riser. With the new split cable buss system (PTSB system) on the newer bows you can yoke tune your bow similar to moving your cable rod for fine adjustments. With the wider limb pockets now on the levitate make a for a much more stable shooting platform. On my Mach1 I had to run a back bar to stabilize my bow. I didn’t put one on my levitate and feel there is a need to. Reducing weight and one less thing to catch on brush. Overall I can say this is a step up from the Mach1 which up until now I felt was the best shooting bow I’d ever owned. If you have any questions let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them.

I went to the PSE dealers school and shooters school back in 96. I found PSE to be a first rate operation. Back then they gave me a new Mach 8 for $100. I thought then that bows could not be made any better. Is Pete Shepley still there? As long as he is around PSE is in good shape.
