I would add that the Vortex stuff is excellent. I have found that talking with Elknut can well be worth the effort, if there is any doubt which one you need.

Eltaco, (Jeremy) which unit were you looking at? I agree it's tough to purchase any optic without seeing it or a very good buddy recommending one. I too like getting my hands on them! (grin) The 50mm is what's on my wish-list, I have the 85mm for near rig or no more than a 1/2 mile from it, now I want a packable unit!!

Paul, I'd be interested in getting my hands on both the 50 and 65. I'm almost positive I'd choose the 50, but need to see them both to be sure. Also, it'd be great to get the 50 in the field vs. My leupold compact to see if I could justify the expense. I'm certain that HD is going to be superior, but need to see it in person to convince myself.

On top of that... I have an open job offer on the table that would force a move. Curious how much more/less useful a spotter would be to me if we end up moving to a new area

Yes HD is very nice but it's the Razor Model that's going to be impressive! Hopefully you'll check one out in time, won't be available until Spring anyhow! Good Luck with your job prospect!! Let me know how it goes!

Oops, I didn't mean HD. I don't have that kind of coin to drop on something I use so infrequently. I do have some interest in the Razor 50mm, tho.
