Cool item for shooting sticks. Like!

You gotta check this out. Weighs nothing. Doesn’t have to fit in your pack. Turns your trekking poles into shooting stix in 2 seconds. If you carry trekking poles and gun hunt it’s a must have.

I tried an old version of something like this. A rubber deal that wrapped around the grips of your trekking poles to make them into shooting sticks. I was never fond of it. This might be worth checking out though.

Hey! That's pretty darn slick! I'm guessing this is what you were mentioning on that other thread! And at that price, it's hard to justify not picking one up.

I love pieces of gear that serve multiple purposes. I’m definitely not a fan of having a bipod mounted on my rifle catching every twig and making a bunch of noise. Also I have literally blown opportunities on 6 point bulls because I didn’t have time to drop my pack and yank my rest out. I have a Bog Pod tripod to set up when I’m stationary. But when I’m hiking with trekking poles this is the ticket. I’m carrying my shooting sticks ready to rock at all times. They also hold your sticks together when not in use.

You can also slip the handles over each end, make a Y with the sticks and viola! Crossed shooting sticks.

If you loop both wrist straps across the opposite pole, then grab the poles in your hand right below the cork you can make an X shape with a nice little sling in the middle.

Personally, I usually shoot off a monopod if I end up using the trekking pole while standing. I'm too tall to use them without bending over a bit, so I'll spread my legs way out to drop my head a foot or so. Shot my best mule deer at about 400 yards, with a steep upward angle that way a few years back in MT.

Seems well built. Went together smooth and quick. Pretty happy with them. Nice to know that when I am hiking with poles I can have a steady rest in the blink of an eye.

It’s a no brainer like Clip Shot because it’s small, weighs nothing, yet very functional.

I haven’t much. I bought a set a few years ago but misplaced them. My knees are getting pretty bad so I decided that before I blow one out somewhere that nobody will find my body I should buy another set. So ... of course about a month after I buy a new set.... the old ones turn up. I may stash those ones by my main glassing spot for extra supports for my tarp so water doesn’t pool on top.

Even if you don’t need trekking poles they do help use your upper body to carry weight making uphill hiking easier. No brainer on the downhill if you have bad knees. Now that they double as a gun rest I’ll be more motivated to use them too.

Trekking poles are dead useful once you get in the habit of using them. Heck, my main backcountry shelter is a shaped tarp that pitches on trekking poles. I don't need them as much for the actual hunting, it's the heavy loads to and from that they're really useful.

I started using them about 3 years ago and never looked back. When I'm really covering ground, especially up or down, they are nearly a necessity. When I'm down to the business of hunting they are in my pack. I've had to many shot opportunities arise that I would have missed if I'd had my gun on my shoulder or attached to my pack. It stays in my hands.
I hunt therefore I am. I fish therefore I lie.
