Verizon vs at&t

Well ive had verizon for over 10 years. Ive had to lean my phone against the east window of my house, put it on speakerphone, and NOT TOUCH IT to make a phone call. Text and internet capabilities have been horrendous. When im up in alaska the guys with at&t are surfing the internet, texting, calling, when i have no signal. Today i got at&t and holy hell, im sitting on my couch surfing 4g internet! Can you hear me now? Yes you can. Verizon can eat me.

Glad it's working for you bud. I have ATT and have for many years (can't get wife to switch). ATT is the absolute worst in remote areas for me. All my hunting buddies get some kind of signal from a lookout or whatever but I can never get a fricking bar with ATT. WA, ID, MT remote areas all the same.

The guy who got me to switch is a border patrol dude in the area. So i trust his advice. He spends a lot of time in the mountains out here

It may be good there but you travel into any of the other mountain states or in the midwest outside of a major city you will be sorely disappointed.

I have had AT&T and Verizon. In most areas Verizon gets out better. At least that is my experience. I liked the AT&T carryover minutes plan. The trouble I had was in finding a place to get out so I could use some minutes. I suspect AT&T has more cell towers in your area.

It isn't so much the carrier (AT&T or Verizon) as it is the cell tower coverage in your area. Nation wide, Verizon has the best coverage. If one company works better for you in your area, go for it. If you do a lot of traveling, Verizon is a good bet.

Glad to hear it's working better for you. Where I live in Colorado, it's complete opposite. Have to have Verizon or you don't get a solid signal. Same thing in the areas we hunt. Must just vary based on your location.

A person needs to check the coverage maps prior to picking a carrier. Then decide based on your priority of use area.
I live in MN very close to the Wisc. border, I can go almost anywhere in the US with my Verizon phone and have great coverage, but the are some areas in Wisc. that are AT&T areas that I really don't get squat or zero service while someone with an AT&T phone is basically streaming vids. 2 miles down the road tho, I'm at 4G again. I guess it must have something to do with whose tower you're pinging off of.
And if I remember right, the maps reflected the same.

Not all your buddies.. I am also on ATT, if you are in a major area or along main highways etc ATT is a better overall service. You just get more for your $ where you have coverage. But ATT does not have the coverage map that Verizon does so when you get outside populated areas they tend to fall off...

Don't need signal in elk camp anyway, supposed to be hunting elk or partying with strippers not checking your facebook... err wait was that supposed to be a secret?
