tipi tents

I currently own a Titanium Goat 6.5. It's been a good tent and I have spent 7 or 8 seasons under it. It's great for me and my gear. My hunting party is growing and has me looking for a bigger tent. I have 2 12 year olds that cant wait to go elk hunting in 2 years. The 8.0 is a lot bigger. I may go with that.

Just wondering if you guys using any other brand of tipi tents? If so any big enough for a crew of 4. I'm not talking manufacturer specs either. More like a tent 4 people could sleep in comfortably, and have room to spare for stove, wood, alarm clock, etc. I don't want to smell my partners feet, breath or anything else offensive.

I had a GoLite SL5 and wouldn't want more than two people with gear in it. I have a Kifaru 4 man, haven't used it yet except for my backyard but can tell I feel the same about it as my SL5.

Kifaru does make larger tipis.

I use a smaller Kifaru (Sawtooth, which I love) and they do make bigger Tipis. Seek Outside makes Tipis as well. I would probably be looking at their 8 or 12 man versions.

We used a Seek Outside 8 man tipi this year and it worked fine. We only had two people with big cots and I think you could get a third in there. With 4 you would have to sleep on the ground. If you are truck camping get a wall tent, if backpacking look at a 12 man tipi. It should have alot of room for 4 people and gear stove and wood.

Wall tent shop offers a few different options for tipi tents with room for stoves. I wouldn't go any smaller than a 14 foot tipi but finding poles long enough in new hunting sites might be difficult due to the length. You may look into a wall tent with a complete internal frame. I've found they go up easier and have plenty of room for gear. If you go that route i would recommend a 14x16 tent. I love my 16x20 for our crew we have plenty of space and the stove keeps us warm all night (as long as someone restocks it some time in the night).
