Sleeping pad, good value?

A friend has his great grand dads 100 year-old bedroll. His great grand father got the bed roll in 1917 when he was teen running cows in open range. A bit heavy, but no under pad . My buddy still uses it on hunts and scout outings .

Twelve years back I bought a Cabelas sleeping pad 3.5x 36 x 72". Built much like many of the self inflating pads on the market. I believe we spent about $120.00
One of the first times hunting in the desert I placed the pad on something sharp . Then fixed it on the spot with the repair kit.
Last year an o-ring dried and cracked. Another easy fix. Friday night I noticed a leak near a seem, which should be an easy fix.
Ive slept on this pad about 410 nights, my daughters another 40s night and my wife another 40 nights in a tent or outdoors,
My kids and guests have slept on the pad another 100 nights in the house.
Maybe not the bargain a friend has in his 100 year-old bedroll ( great grand dads) when he slept with the cows. My buddy still uses it on hunts and scout outings

I spent a good chunk of money on a Cabelas sleeping pad. It was a big self-inflating pad. It worked okay for a couple years but when I went to use it the last time I found that it had inflated and burst all of the seams. Apparently the glue they use on the seams breaks down over time. I bought a Thermarest to replace it and have not had any issues yet.

That's pretty cool that the old bedroll has survived a couple generations.
