pre treat game bags

So pretty much every elk hunter out there uses game bags. Now I've learned to use chili powder to keep the insects away. In the past I have kept my game bags in a vacuum sealed bag to compress them so they take up less space. Has anyone pretreated their game bags with chili powder before the hunt. I'm thinking I will unroll my game bag and spray with a light mist of water. Shake on some chili powder then roll them back up and dry for a few days. After they are dry enough vacuum seal them for storage.

Lets see if we can build on this idea.

I only took a jar of it along and sifted on the meat as we were skinning.Worked real well. My game bags are too big to put in a bag and seal.They stay in the panniers until am ready for them. I am usually not more than 1/2 mile from them

I still need to put chili powder into my kill kit. I think sprinkiling on the meat moist meat then placing in the bag may be better. I would place a bag of chili pepper in with my bags

I think I'm going to do both. My plan is to get some on my bags and get them sealed. I'm hoping the cloth will absorb the smell of the chili powder. I'll have more chili powder in my kill kit. Seems a bit over kill but I definitely don't want fly eggs on my meat either.
