Need grab bag ideas from the experts

Postby six » 07 01, 2016 •  [Post 1]

I'm entertaining ideas for a grab bag (backpack style). Seems I have $75 of the bosses money to spend on gear. I would like some ideas for a gear/grab bag that can ride shotgun in the patrol car. My thought is a couple extra boxes of ammo (9mm and .223), extra magazines, bino's, first aid kit, maybe an MRE, bottle or 2 of water, gloves, and stocking hat. I do realize I will have to spend some money out of pocket as well. My only requirement would be durability. This pack will see years of abuse. Anyone recommend a really durable pack.

I have been looking into the same thing, one that I really like that would meet all your requirements is the mystery ranch RATS bag. It's designed to be a medical bag but the front opens up and has lots of storage and some compartments for organizing stuff. The price is a lot more than $75 but seems like it'd work out really good.

The other option I've seen is this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NP9N8 ... ref=plSrch I have a buddy who uses this in his front seat and he likes it a lot especially to hold his extra pens (because we're in the old days and still hand write tickets) so always having a pen is important.
