what color flashlight??

I was just wondering if anyone uses a green or other color flashlight when walking to their spots in the dark early morning before sunup or does everyone just use the regular white light kind? I was just wondering, i know in a lot of places they use green when headed to hunting blinds or stands for deer and hogs, but i havent heard of many using them for traveling early morning for elk. Just wondering what everyone's thought is on it.

Used to use the red lense lights in the Army for map reading and such but have never used them for elk hunting ingress/regress. As long as a guy doesn't turn his lamp on to the 6 brazillian lumen spotlight setting and scan the dark draw with it, I don't think a normal white light kept on/around the trail you're walking will negatively impact the wapiti much.

I rarely ever use a flashlight, I prefer to walk in the dark. I don't think it really matters what color you use. I've never seen light spook animals. If they hear or smell you they will leave. If they see a light bobbing around in the dark they may watch it but that is all.

Seems like game is much more comfortable in the dark.

I have used white light for finding bright-eyes reflective thumb tacks. Generally I dont use a light either. But sometimes you need light to be safe walking. I stumbled over a table sized rock last fall,.. I could see camp, but pulled the light out for the rest of the hike

i bought a buffalo coulee outfitters headlamp off of amazon, super lite and super bright. the colour is yellow so if you drop it in snow or at nite time its easy to find.

I mostly walk in the dark when going in but if not moon light I turn my light on with a blue light just so I don't walk into a tree or something! I personally believe as long as it's not supper bright it's not going to bother anything if you're not making a ton of noise!

I like the 3 LED white bulbs, and 2 LED red bulbs. I have not used green. I wish they did not make you scroll through the flashing on and off mode which annoys me.

I LOVE the diffuse dim light that these headlamps emit. It is not enough to constrict my pupils and lose all my night vision, but enough light to see everything, although dimly.

I HATE the current trend of trying to make the LED lights as bright and with the distance focus of a standard old fashioned flashlight. A bright flashlight blinds you and makes the night pitch black so you can only see the narrow cone your flashlight is pointed at.

I have a little stockpile of these early generation LED headlamps because I suspect you will not be able to get them in a few more years. More lumens is not a better flashlight for me.
