Pack and frame question

Postby Mathewsz7-elkridge » 04 03, 2016 •  [Post 1]

I am going on my first elk hunt this fall and have a couple questions. Does anyone know how much weight a eberlestock dragonfly can haul without damaging the pack. I was wondering about the same thing with a Cabela's Instinct Extreme Frame. I have the frame for the second load of meat. If anyone has used one of these or a like model there feed back would be appreciated.

Both of those would be able to haul more than you can without damage. If that's what you have - use them and don't worry about it. If you don't have the dragonfly yet, and are looking for recommendations - you'll sure get a lot of opinions from budget minded to fairly costly - everyone has a different system that they like.

Thank you. Yes I have both of them. I found the dragonfly in the bargain cave at Cabela's! Ok that what I figured but just wanted to make sure. I want to start increasing my weight on my hikes.

Yep, you'll be fine with the packs you have. The Dragonfly will work great for your daypack and can adequately haul out the first load of meat. Definitely switch out for the frame pack after that first load though 8-)
