Any arrow builders here?

Hello everyone I've been contemplating on buying bare arrows and cutting and fletching myself. My question is besides an arrow saw,square and fletching jig what other tools are needed or used?

That's really all you need. The G5 arrow squaring device is nice but not essential if you have a good saw. Some fletches or vanes and glue and acetone and you are good to go.

Every Boy Scout camp I hang around the archery range and fix arrows, I enjoy fixing arrows,.
But my daughter is getting me 3 dozen arrows for Christmas,..she can get arrows cheaper than I can blanks

I could see it being something enjoyable and fun to do. I like tying my own flies and doing diy projects so I figured this is similar plus I'll know the quality of my arrows.

I build all my own. You will also need an exacto knife. They are handy and work well for stripping old vanes. Don't waste your money on one of the so called vane stripping tools. What kind of arrows do you shoot? My Easton FMJ's come with a chamfering stone so you don't need a squaring device. Not sure which other arrows these come with but would be worth checking.

I would be using Victory vap and rip arrows primarily and the occasional other brand. I've heard to stay away from the vane stripper tool before and just use the exact knife

What fletcher do you guys like? I have an old Blitzenberger, but looking to get more helical and I think some of the fletchers cost as much as a new clamp for mine.

I use and like the Bitzenberger.

I don't think the VAP's come with a stone so I'd recommend a squaring device.

Get the squaring tool and use it on both ends. Solvent to clean the shafts. Used to use several blitz jigs. Sold them when I closed the shop, now I use a Arizona fletcher. Works good and I can do up a dozen arrows in less than 30 minutes.

Arrow spinner is another good idea to get. Really helps figure out which arrows will fly true!
