Camp chair.

I'm looking for some thoughts on a camp chair that doesn't weigh a whole lot. I found a real honey hole this year but the only thing to sit on was a rock. Sitting on the ground didn't give me quite enough height to see where I needed to. It would have to be comfortable enough for an all day sit, and packable enough to carry in 3 miles.

Thoughts please.

Of course anytime you want something that doesn't weigh much you have to pay more for it. Here's a Big Agnes Helinox that weighs 1 lb. Cost around $100

I know some places where a chair would make a really big difference. Have you though of carrying a 5 gallon bucket in there?

I'm going to try these as they're a little taller and my Uncle bought my REI chair on the spot last year.

The only downside to either of these designs is the poles will sink into the ground if it's soft.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I'm leaning toward the one from Cabelas as it seems to be a little taller and I have almost enough Cabelas points to pay for it. I'm thinking the helinox chair and a Quick Blind from E.L.K, Inc would be a good combination for an all day sit. Plus it will be a good way to get acclimated coming from 1500 feet in elevation to 10,000 feet in less than 24 hours.

I've had this model camp stool for three seasons now and have had no issues at all with it. Nothing fancy but functional and a less expensive option

I have a Helinox chair and love it. In my pack four most important things I carry, in this order, Tent, bag, pad, Helinox chair. If you held my feet to the fire I may ditch the pad over the chair. It is so nice to be able to sit down at night and in the am. It is a great piece of gear.
