carbon express piledriver ptx

I am looking at getting some new arrows to shoot this season. I have read a bit about the carbon express piledriver ptx. these things are heavy and skinny. 10.32 gpi, .272 diameter.
I am shooting a bear encounter 29" draw at 60lbs. I plan to hunt muledeer and elk in colorado, muledeer the first 2 weeks of the season and elk the second, im looking for a rig that will get it done for both critters so I am not worried about changing things in the field.
I am either going to go with montecs or rage hypodermics. I have been holding good groups with the montec at 50 yrds, that may be what I end up sticking with, but those hypodermics look ruthless... sure would put a wallop on a deer but im not sure I want to use something like that on an elk. Thats where you, my experienced comrades come in.. any first hand knowledge of these products and how they perform?

I've shot CX Piledrivers and Maxima Hunters the last couple of years. No elk taken in that period, but lots of target shots showed that the piledrivers have great penetration, but seem to fly a bit slower and drop a bit more over distance than the MaxHunter. With a Montec bh, I think the Piledrivers would be deadly at 40 yds and under. Just my 2¢.

with that said is there a combo you think would work better for ranges past 40yards? I am looking at 50 as my prime zone... some of my stalks last year ended at 50 yards, I was not able to make the connection, this year I will be and want to insure that my equipment is as well matched to me and my bow. I feel great, staying consistent, holding decent groups with the cheapo arrows. I am ready at this point to get something a bit better that I will hunt with
I have paper tuned, then walk back tuned. shooting string at 40 and damn near at 50... if only the options out there were not so many.. sigh... if only I could shoot each brands arrows a few times before I dropped the 80-100 bucks

First, a correction to my previous post - Mayhem Hunters, not Maxima Hunters.

If a 50 yard shot is going to be my shot, then I'd just practice between 50 and 60. Once tuned in, the Piledrivers should fill the bill.
